Football Manager Wins ?158,000 at Irish Poker Open |

David ?Dixie? Dean manages Lingfield FC in Sussex County League Division One and finished third in the poker tournament to take his total poker career winnings to ?284,351.
Dean, 50, guided Lingfield FC to a 7th place finish this season and the understated gaffer does not appear to be letting the fame and glory go to his head.
Dean said "I'm not a flashy kind of guy, I don't want a new car or any fancy things. I have been playing poker for ten years and got into it by hosting poker games in Croydon.?
Belgian poker player Kevin Vandermissen finished in first place in the Irish Poker Open to win ?420,000 but Dean was the highest placed UK-based competitor. In the past, the Irish Poker Open has included such iconic names as Doyle Brunson, Phil Laak and Teddy Sheringham.
This was Dean?s first poker tournament this year and he does not regret having to miss one of his club?s games to complete the tournament.
"Being the manager of the football team is time-consuming, so I normally can't go to tournaments like that very often. But, as much as I wanted to be there for the game on Saturday against Redhill, I'm glad I stuck around in Dublin. My main plan is to treat my family and my mum,? said Dean.
